Vendas Novas is a Portuguese city, in the Évora district, Alentejo region and sub-region of Alentejo Central, with about 12000 inhabitants (2011).
This city is the seat of the municipality of Vendas Novas with an area of ​​222.39 km² and 11,846 inhabitants (2011), subdivided into 2 parishes (Landeira and Vendas Novas). The municipality is bordered on the east by the municipality of Montemor-o-Novo, on the south by Alcácer do Sal, on the west by Palmela and on the northwest by the eastern part of Montijo.

Transport
The municipality of Vendas Novas is served by a train station that provides daily five direct connections, in each direction, to Lisbon, Évora and Beja. It is by far the best accessibility point to any of the three main urban centers throughout the Alentejo, by public transport, as it is only 25 minutes from Évora, 50 minutes from Lisbon and about 1 hour from Beja.

It also allows connection to Pinhal Novo station in just 22 minutes and to Pragal station in 42 minutes, allowing easy access to the various urban centers of the Setúbal Peninsula (Almada, Seixal, Barreiro, Moita, Montijo, Palmela, Setúbal) by way of train, and usually under 40-45 minutes. Within a radius of 60 minutes and by public transport, it therefore covers more than 3 million people (30% of the Portuguese population).
In terms of road transport, the city is mainly served by Rodoviária do Alentejo: Vendas Novas has more than 10 daily connections to Évora, Setúbal and Montemor-o-Novo on this operator, being connected to Montemor-o-Novo in 25 minutes, and to Setúbal/Évora in about 50-60 minutes. There are also 5 to 6 daily circulations provided by the TST, between Setúbal and Landeira (borough of Vendas Novas), on route 709. The National Express Network also has some long-haul connections in Vendas Novas, with up to 2 daily circulations. long haul to various locations nationwide.
The Marateca node is located near the village of Landeira, which gives Vendas Novas an advantageous geographic position. To the east of the city is the access to the A6 highway, with the A2 and A13 flowing to the Marateca node. By car, you can reach places such as Lisbon, Évora, Vila Franca de Xira, Santarém and Setúbal in about 45 to 50 minutes. Vendas Novas is 35 minutes from Palmela, on the A6; and 40 minutes from Montijo and Alcochete, via the N4 road.
